From world-class food and art to an incredible music scene, Asheville has the cultural amenities of its larger southern neighbors Charlotte and Raleigh, with less traffic and superior natural beauty. Asheville’s River Arts District attracts numerous tourist every year, while many people travel to western North Carolina for restaurants, microbreweries, and downtown shopping.
4) Asheville Has Excellent Weather
Western North Carolina experiences all four seasons; however, Asheville and the surrounding mountains rarely exceed 95-degrees during summer. In lower elevation cities like Morganton and Hickory, you can escape the heat by driving a few miles to Table Rock, or Mount Pisgah.
In contrast, Asheville's winters are not nearly as harsh as other high-elevation cities in the Appalachians. Spring and Autumn offer marvelous displays of color, attracting millions of tourists each year.
